U.S.A.!!!!
Final score U.S.A 6 Dominican Republic, plus Jenny, 3
I don´t know how many people can say they beat a Dominican baseball team, but WCC can now do so... We have begun a farm team for the Angels down here. Hopefully in a couple of years the Angels will be cleaning up the summer softball league!

Sorry for not posting yesterday, it was not from a lack of trying, the internet is simply not as reliable here. Here is a quick update from yesterday.
It was hot again, but we pushed through the heat and worked past our usual time. We had to take Catie to the hospital at the beginning of the day because she was expiriencing back spasms. Luckily she is doing well now. She even came with us to hangout at the worksite today! The heat really took a toll on us and you could tell it was ¨hump day¨ because people were tired and a little bit on edge.
Today started out perfectly. We enjoyed a great talk about priorities, presented by Bryan Kelly, enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast, and then continued on to the worksite. We finished up everything they had for us a little before lunch, so we gathered the kids up and presented them with options for the afternoon. We decided that we would meet up with the Dominicans to play baseball. We shall see what will come of this....
Tomorrow will be another beach day because the Dominicans do not work on Good Friday. This has really been an outstanding trip thus far. The work has been demanding, the kids have been great, and we have been absorbing the bumps along the road well.

Hot, hot, hot!
It is really hot here. Yesterday afternoon proved to be too much heat for us. We had to pack up a bit early because kids were fading fast. Today we implemented a new system, 10 minutes on and then 10 minutes off. We broke the youth into two groups and rotated throughout the day.
We have done some great work. We have been moving a lot of cinder blocks and dirt. We have also had a great time with the little kids. It is amazing to see the progress that has occured with the building and the children over the last three years. The structure continues to grow. It now has a finished multi purpose room, which we dug out last year.
Tonight we are meeting with the youth group from the church we partner with in Gaspar Hernandez. This is always a blast. We will play games and hangout with them for an hour.
Please do continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Everyone is healthy so far, the only real difficulty we have encountered thus far was when we ran out of water for the shower after a long work day....

A Glorious Day
We are here! It is beautiful.
We had a delay, due to mechanical problems from ÓRD to ATL, but we narrowly made our flight. Because of the delay we had to skip lunch, which made a hungry group. Luckily as soon as we made it to the D.R. Mama Rosa had some spectacular food prepared for us.
Everyone is getting along really well. Our beach day, yesterday, was perfect. Unfortunately we did not make it to church on Sunday night becuase this is an election time and the streets around the church were filled with people and the speakers were booming. Due to this, we enjoyed a walk to the beach from our abode and then enjoyed a Palm Sunday service.
Today is the first work day. It is extrodinary how the building is coming together. I can´t wait to post some pictures upon our return. Thus far we have been moving cinder blocks and dirt.
I will try to keep you posted. Keep us in your prayers. It is hot and we are working hard, so tempers are bound to flare....
Peace,
Your Servants!
